KATE DONNELL COOK is a second generation interior designer having begun her career under the mentorship of her mom, Janise Cooper. While working for JCA she worked on the Palm Springs Marquis, Beverly Wilshire Hotel, Loews Giorgio Hotel in Denver Colorado, and Stallion Springs Resort Tehachapi California. She gained further experience working at Design Development where she created dynamic restaurant interiors on projects such as Elephant Bar, Chimayo Huntington Beach, Hard Rock Café, Boston Market, Friendly’s and Wild Thyme Café & Bakery, Mimi’s Café, Convalescent hospital interior design for Verdugo Vista and Autumn Hills. She Coordinated color schemes, made presentation color boards and wrote specifications. Kate worked with fabricators and craftsmen to create light fixtures, custom carpet designs, murals, and mosaic designs. She met with clients for presentations and traveled for on site art and decorative accessory installation.

When Eddy Bitton left Design Development to start his own firm, he invited Kate to join him. With Bitton Design she worked on (16) Elephant Bar Restaurants, Bandits' BBQ and Bar, Sharky's Woodfired Mexican Grill, Habit Burger Grill, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, and Wood Ranch BBQ & Grill and others. The firm was full turnkey, involved also on graphic identity and  exterior design. She teamed up with her mom as well as a large team for Friedmutter of Newport Beach, Ca where she worked on high level Harrah’s projects. She wrote specifications, obtained bids for custom products, created presentation color boards, selected, specified art and accessories. As an independent designer her current projects include a Wine Bar, Deli, and some high end residential projects. 

She is experienced in creating full FF&E packages that highlight the clients’ product. Her responsibilities include managing the design department, participating in client meetings, writing specifications, obtaining bids for custom products, creating presentation color boards, selecting, specifying and installing art and accessories. She also maintains the current resource library, and meets with vendors.
